SUSPENDED

Every dog club, breeder, exhibitor or purchaser needs to know whether the person you plan to trust with your dog or your money is or has ever had privileges suspended or been barred.  The penalty and reason for suspension may help you decide.

Such important information should not be so difficult to access.  So once again, The Dog Press breaks new ground. For the first time in history, you can quickly check current individual suspension of privileges and fines imposed by the nation's primary registries, the American Kennel Club and the United Kennel Club.

Interestingly, our researchers noted AKC has suspended serious sentences by nearly 100% in 2009 compared to previous years whereas UKC seems to be cracking down on violators.  Jack Norton – AKC Head of Compliance, could not provide a running list of those suspended.  The only way to find out if someone is suspended is to go to their website and look it up, which we found to be a very difficult task.  We trust this new section will serve as a current and easier reference for the fancy.

There will be upcoming articles on historical changes in penalties and suspensions. If a person's name is a hyperlink, it's a whole 'nuther chapter.  You can "comb the tome" or search by name.

Given the difficulty in obtaining and compiling this information, we are not responsible for any error or omission. Suspensions may change after the fact.  If you have any questions, please contact the Registry.  Back To Index
