*** Here's how it works! *** Merit Club Enrollment process:
Step 1: Nominate a Sire (stud) for a calendar year; nomination must be renewed yearly.
Step 2: Nominate a litter sired by a nominated stud before the litter's 1 year birthday.
Step 3: Nominate each pup in a nominated litter before the pup's 2 year birthday. Once a pup is nominated into the program, it is permanently nominated for life; no additional fees or renewal will ever be required.
Merit Club Points are awarded to permanently nominated dogs that earn Titles at qualified Merit Club events. Qualified events will be offered in conjunction with Conformation, Companion, Obedience, Agility, Weight Pull and Protection events.
Merit Club Payouts come at the end of each year, a cash value is calculated for Merit Club points earned during the year and checks are written to Sire, Litter and Dog owners.
Sire Owner: Receives 20% of a dog's total Merit Club point cash value
Litter Owner: Receives 20% of a dog's total Merit Club point cash value
Dog Owner: Receives 60% of a dog's total Merit Club point cash value
Dog owners and breeders can begin enrolling their UKC registered male dogs (studs) before the end of 2006 in anticipation of the program's official launch date of January 1, 2007.
