Best In Show Judge Elliott Weiss - of Eagle, Idaho

For 134th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

 

1956, Elliott Weiss attended his very first dog show - the Westminster Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show - and it was love at first sight, leading him to a life in the sport of dogs. Fifty-four years later, he will have the ultimate honor in the sport - judging Best In Show at the 134th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show February 15-16, 2010 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.  Mr. Weiss will head a panel of 41 judges from 18 states, Canada and England.

Working; Mrs. Kimberly Meredith-Cavanna of Pleasant Hill, CA

Sporting; Mr. W. Everett Dean, Jr. of Richmond, VA

Hound;  Dr. Donald Sturz, Jr., from Centerport, NY

Terrier;  Mrs. Loraine Boutwell of Kansas City, MO

Toy; Mrs. Shirley Limoges of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Non-Sporting; Mrs. Dorothy Dalton of Stuart, FL

There are 173 breeds and varieties eligible for competition, including three new breeds eligible for the first time for judging at Westminster: the Irish Red and White Setter (Sporting Group), the Norwegian Buhund (Herding), and the Pyrennean Shepherd (Herding).

Feb 16th - All Sporting, Working, and Terrier breeds and varieties will be judged on Tuesday, with Groups judged on Tuesday evening along with Best In Show! Televised live Tuesday on USA Network from 8-11 p.m. (EST)

 

If you’re on the West Coast and you don’t want to ruin the surprise, DON’T go to the Westminster website after 5 p.m. (pacific time) as they will have results live as they occur posted before you actually see the show!
