LILY PADS INDEX

Dog Laws are like lily pads. Animal Rights Activists (ARA) know it takes only a few pennies to corrupt a politician and get pet laws passed. They know if you double a penny a day for a year, it becomes a million bucks.

Pennies or votes, HSUS, PETA, and other ARA groups know it only takes a little to corrupt a little person - or to poison a pond.

Here's how it works. Get a pad in your pond and the darned thing multiplies faster than mice. Before you know it, the pond is covered in pads and all the fish are dead.

Okay, so while you're still doing the math on pennies, here's the analogy. If one despot in one little county gets a penny to push a pet law or limit law through, it spreads from county to state faster than you can count lily pads! Suddenly it is your state and finally, you notice. You can ignore the proliferation in your pond or you can start cleaning it up, one rotten politician and one lily pad at a time. That's why we started this section. We're going to change the way you think about dog laws. We will arm you with pesticide and show you how to treat a lily pad.

As our writers and readers come up with effective ways to actually DO SOMETHING about the proliferation of pet laws pushed by the Animal Rights Activists (ARA), this section will expand. For over five years, we "talked" about the AR threat while pet laws proliferated. Mainstream media ignores our rallies and protests, even the biggie, AB 1634 in California where everything makes national news. History is only of value when planning for the future and the big question is What have we DONE to stop the spread of unconstitutional Pet Laws?

A lot of great Pet Law Groups were formed and they've won a few battles but let's face it, the ARA are winning the war, county by county and state by state. Our game plan is not working.

If however, you think we stand a chance, stay with us as we take a hard look at ourselves, our politicians, AKC's abject failure on the Legislative front, and most of all, how much we care about our sport-hobby and what we're willing to do to save it.
