In Memory of
Joan Anita Fallon
the effect is that
the dog world will never be the same...
Louis Fallon, AKC Historian,
columnist, and friend of more than thirty years, lost his
beloved wife September 20, 2008. Mrs. Joan Anita
Fallon, a thirty-five year
resident of New Milford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully, at
home, after a courageous battle with cancer, with her loving
husband, Louis, by her side.
Joan and Louis, who were married
in November 1995, shared a life of love and laughter,
complimenting one another beautifully. Ever the consummate wife,
Joan was an unassuming and kind presence while Louis was devoted
to her. Protective of one another, they treasured their privacy
yet nonetheless reveled in the company of their many family
members, friends, and neighbors. It was not uncommon to see Joan
and Louis planning meals in their kitchen, and enjoying one
another's company. Joan's passions included cooking for
her family and friends, and gardening. She was a loving and
supportive wife, a wonderful mother and stepmother, sister,
sister-in-law, and aunt to seventeen nieces and nephews.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 10, 1939, Joan was the
daughter of the late Rose and Milton Zuckerman. She was
predeceased by her first husband, Dr. Roy Fuhrman DDS.
Joan is survived by her
husband of 12 years, Louis; her daughter, Dr. Stefanie Fuhrman
PhD. of Rockville, Maryland, and her husband, John Pitman, her
son, Edward Fuhrman of Dumont, and his companion, Dana Paluzzi;
stepchildren, Leilani Fallon of Franklin Park, Wendie Fallon of
Huntington Beach, California, and Matthew Fallon of Bealeton,
Virginia, and his wife, Laura; her sister, Evelyn Zuckerman-Toda
of White River Junction, Vermont, and brother-in-law, Dr. Bobby
Toda, as well as other relatives, including seventeen nieces and
nephews, and numerous dear friends.
Graveside funeral services were held at the Cedar Park/Beth El
Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey, Rabbi Avrohom
Marmorstein presided. Charitable contributions, in Joan's name,
may be sent to Yeshiva Toras Chaim, Attention: Rabbi Isaac
Wasserman ROV, 1555 Stuart Street, Denver, CO 80204.
