Dr. Roberta Lee

D.D., Ph.D., N.D.

Dr. Lee began her professional education in Santa Rosa, California in 1957 with studies in psychology and sociology, as well as religion. Today, she holds several doctorates, the most recent of which is a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine awarded in 1980 from Brantridge Forest School, England.

Dr. Lee maintained a private practice while simultaneously producing research, articles, and books for both professional and lay periodicals. She has hosted radio and television programs that explored the ever-broadening scope of health and behavior.

In order to finance her educational pursuits, Dr. Lee worked as a high fashion photography model and professional dancer and won a drama scholarship to the Pasadena Summer Stock Theater. This background taught her to look at health as an integrated whole of which there are many parts. She worked for a veterinarian and briefly, for the human society but she could not bear to witness the destruction of animals. Dr. Lee continues to be dedicated to the principals of good health, exercise, and rejuvenation techniques; all of which she weaves intricately through her classes, lectures and which she applies in no small way to the care of her animals.

Her work in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Southern California and the development and teaching of behavioral modification techniques for children who suffer from emotional problems has been well applied to her understanding of and communication with all animals.

Dr. Lee accepted an offer to work with the United States Air Force in behavioral modification studies. She also acted as special consultant to the United States Army in studies relating to Kirlian Photography and stress-induced situations.

TheDogPlace is proud to count Dr. Roberta Lee among our most valued Science and Advisory Board Members. There follows a partial list of Dr. Lee's professional achievements but she would be the first to agree that her work as a benefactor of all animals is among her most important contributions to the world in which we live.
