Dee Mapley

A dog lover since she was a small child, rescue has been her life's work. More than 1000 rescued dogs have graced her home over the years. She worked alone and always took in the dogs that other rescues turned away.

Showing was just a dream for her until November, 2005, when a dear friend encouraged her to try UKC conformation with a Standard Poodle puppy. She found it exhilarating and from that point on, Dee was hooked! Although her first Poodle was not of good show quality, it helped her learn the ins and outs of conformation.

In the summer of 2007, she obtained her next two Poodles, "Ava", Celest-Brio Silver Spitfire, a silver miniature who received her UKC GRCH title in 2009 and is UKC's 2008 #1 Top Ten Poodle in her class and "Brio", Aircastle's Runs With Scissors, a black Standard Poodle who won her GRCH in 2008. Lee and Ava are still competing but Brio is happily destroying the yard by pulling up hostas, chasing squirrels, counter surfing, and testing Lee's patience on a daily basis.

Dee runs a raw feeding co-op in central Ohio with over 200 members and all of her dogs are raw fed with only the best human grade meats with no antibiotics or hormones.  She says, "nothing is too good for our pets!  They eat better than we do."

She lives in Columbus, Ohio, married to a wonderful man of 27 years with their one son. They are a law enforcement family and deeply proud of it. They feel that their dogs are like their children and they all live in the home. They do not have a kennel and each "child" is spoiled and has his/her own special bed which they refuse to share with any one else.
