After Linn’s divorce, she moved to New Mexico, she remarried Steve Vandiver, a wonderful man. As time rocked on, Linn still felt the need to again get back to her love of showing and breeding outstanding dogs and the Toy Fox Terrier just fit the bill. Hence began Desert Breeze TFT. The breed and the size of the dogs have changed, but not the devotion and dedication to their dogs. From presenting their dogs at shows to producing the best puppies they can, Steve and Linn truly show that their dogs are part of their family. When it comes to a Show Quality dog or puppy, Linn says and believes “if I wouldn’t keep any puppy or dog to show or breed, I don’t want anyone else to. That’s why I like to stay in touch with all of our puppy and dog owners. Every breeder who sells a puppy is making their best educated guess at a puppy’s young age as to the quality. I want to make sure that the puppy does turn out to be show quality. If not, we will replace that puppy the next litter we have. I would much rather have a puppy go to a great home as a pet, and find out that that puppy should be in the show ring, rather than have a puppy go into a great home, expecting it to go into the show ring and not be the quality I would want to see in that ring.” All of Steve and Linn’s dogs live in their home. They do not have a kennel. They all have their beds, a big back yard to run around in, a dog door to come and go as they please and a water feature when gazing into the pool or just lying around in the sun seems to suit them! Vandiver began began her love of Akitas and Sea Breeze Kennel in 1984.
That love produced multiple champions , some of which were Sea Breeze
Grand Wizard, Bounty Hunter, Excalibur, MS Pinafore, Captain Hook. The
love expanded to include Shiba Inu’s. Linn was fortunate to begin that
breeding program with a little bitch named CH Lietash Whirling Dervish “Tigger”.
She finished her Championship her first weekend out at 6 ½ months of age
winning 4 consecutive Group 1’s from the 6-9 month puppy class. Then
came Ch. Clean Sweep “Hoover”. Ch Sea Breeze The Sundance Kid, finished
from the bred by class.
