Jimmy laughed, took no offense as he unfolded the newspaper, said “Look here, Pew Research, says the role of money in politics is the top concern (78%), followed by the affordability of health care (73%), gun violence (69%) and climate …”

Frank cut him off, things got hot and I said “Hold it guys, how can a list of the most worrisome problems in the United States NOT mention illegal immigrants? That got us all going and agreeing as Jimmy pointed out, that is our greatest risk since Korea.

He had a plan (I’ll skip that, he also had a snort or two) but he was onto the fact that food, housing and medical care for “illegals” will turn the United States into what the immigrants left!

Somebody said “One way or another, we all foot the bill for them what come to kill us.” Harv gave the table a smack, said “Yeah, they are criminals as soon as they step over the border.” We all agreed. “Coming for free freedom” said Dan. Seeking a “better life” may be true for most migrants but what about those who are paid to destroy us politically? And think man, it only takes one to kill your mother or your best friend.

I’ll let the rest of this go since I got smackered and ran out of money. But the talk bothered me. I was trained to analyze reality and that kept most of my guys safe. Bringing my hound dog back inside, I kept thinking… Old dog didn’t say a word, he was worn out from all the petting and ear-pulling he endured.

Still thinking about what’s happening now. It seems that the jerks who ruined their own country are paid to wreak hell in America. They get food, clothes and a place to live and we pay for that. Why don’t these illegals work to better their own country? If they WORKED as hard as they walked to get here, all of us would be better off.

Howie had hit the nail on the head when he said we AMERICANS pay for it in higher costs for everything. Yeah. It cost me $225 to take my dog in for a 6 months check-up.

We worry about being taken over by another country and miss that we are being stabbed by our own leaders. Frank never says much except “I pass” but he shoved his chair back and said his family doctor is a “caring person” that he didn’t have good enough insurance to be able to go there. We didn’t laugh.

Old dog stretched and gave that funny grunt that means he’s serious about sleep so I gave him a good-night rub, turned off the lights, and called it a day.
