GOOD NEWS ON ANIMAL TESTING
The FDA announces a plan to phase out torturous animal testing requirements for Monoclonal Antibodies and other drugs.
May 5, 2025
Dogs are useful devoted emotional therapists that have protected and comforted us since before recorded time.
FDA Commissioner Martin A. Makary, M.D., M.P.H. said “This initiative marks a paradigm shift in drug evaluation and holds promise to accelerate cures…(and) reducing animal use.” {Ref #1 Release dated April 10, 2025
Dr. Makay explained “The FDA’s animal testing requirement will be reduced, refined, or potentially replaced using a range of approaches, including AI-based computational models of toxicity and cell lines…”
That’s good news for laboratory animals but worrisome for people who are concerned about A.I. (artificial intelligence) which reduces human control and critical judgment.
The NetPlaces Network has more than a few highly credentialed medical doctors and veterinarians, so we understand the need for animal testing but that’s what mice are for… And let’s face it, mice are disease-carrying vermin with a short life span.
Does it bother you that mankind’s “best friend” that is still programmed to hunt in a pack (which is now your family) and unless neutered, to seek a mate, is even today still confined in a cage for medical studies?
