RICHARD L. BAUER of Ft. Lauderdale FL suffered a heart attack Saturday March 12, 2010 and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital in Auburn, IN.

"In 2007 he judged the Non-Sporting Group at the Westminster KC. He was approved for: Brittanys, Pointers (German Wirehaired), Retrievers (Chesapeake Bay), Spaniels (Clumber), Spaniels (English Cocker), Hound Group, Boxers, Doberman Pinschers, Terrier Group, Toy Group, Non-Sporting Group, Old English Sheepdogs, Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Shetland Sheepdogs, Best In Show and Misc Breeds. Richard Bauer is slated to preside at the following dog shows posted by AKC through October 2010: http://tinyurl.com/y9mh8j7 No other information is known publicly at this time."
Helen Lee James, another well respected AKC judge, sums up his passing eloquently, "He was a tremendous contributor to our breed and the sport of dogs over many years involvement, starting when he was very young.
