In Memory of Meg Purnell-Carpenterthe effect is that the dog world will never be the same...
The NetPlaces Network staff was saddened by the sudden loss of our dear friend Meg Purnell-Carpenter.

We are told by her family that she went out in the evening of 4/20/23 to give the dogs their treats and didn't come back in as usual. They determined Meg suffered from a vascular event (most likely a massive stroke) quick and painless.
We know the kennel was one of her favorite places to be, in and around the wonderful dogs that loved her and she them.
After Meg married, she, her husband, their son and two daughters moved to Overhill where she began her journey of breeding and showing dogs and where she established an international quarantine facility pictured below.
Meg bred working German shepherd dogs and many accomplished police dogs. She imported the first Akita into England, O’BJ White Hope at Overhill and helped establish the Beauceron after having the breed in her quarantine facility at Overhill. Meg Purnell-Carpenter was also the first to import the Korean Jindo into the U.K.
Meg Purnell-Carpenter became a highly respected dog show judge who officiated at the prestigious Crufts Dog Show and was a sought-after international judge.
She was a wife, a mother and a grandmother, loved by her family, admired and respected by people in the dog world. Meg was a valued contributor to the NetPlaces Network but above all, she was a friend and mentor who will be missed more than words can express.
Meg was laid to rest at the church in her village. Her legacy will continue through her children who are equally involved in the sport of dogs. There will be a celebration of Megs life at her home Overhill Kennels, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023 followed by a service and burial at her local church, Holy Trinity, Norton Malreward.
