How well do you know animals?  You may know dogs but can you figure out the horse puzzles or cat questions?  Do you know what wild horses are commonly called?  Which dog breed in the puzzle is black and tan and has cropped ears?  Okay, no more hints.

We hope you can read the Pitbull story and also the Music for Horses news.  No kidding, music in the barn, cattery or kennel has a relaxing effect on animals.  Less cribbing, fence-fighting, pacing.  Your cats will get along better on Beethoven and horses will sway to the waltz.  Really!  Boarding kennels know dogs do not like hard rock or rap.

The Draft Horse is magnificent!  You've seen the Clydesdales but are they the largest horses?  What about the Shire?  And hey, bird and lizard lovers, do you know what a "hand" is?  Thinking about an Iguana?  They may require more care than you think.  All animals are interesting but the pets we live and work with are the most fascinating of all!.  Cool eh?

The Worlds Largest Horse was a Shire gelding, a heavy draft horse.  His name was Samson, and he was bred in England.  Born in 1846, this horse grew and grew until he measured 21.2 1/2 hands (that's 4" per hand) at the withers by maturity at six years old.

The gentle giant weighed in at 3,360 pounds or well over a ton!

Everyone has seen the spectacular Budweiser Clydesdales but Samson, while not as striking with the hairy pasterns and white markings, was just as breathtaking!

Most people think of wild mustangs as racing across the open plains, but these guys graze peacefully in one of the most starkly beautiful places in the great state of Utah.  Are these Indian ponies?

     Perhaps.

The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation.  The Navajo name for the valley is Ts? Bii' Ndzisgaii (Valley Of The Rocks) and these horses seem to find nourishment among the rocks.

Lizards are fascinating and some can make good pets, even showing recognition for their main caretaker .  If you want to have a good relationship with your Iguana however, you are going to have to spend up to a year taming and socializing him.

Given that, responsible parents are not going to allow a child to choose this species, you'll probably be a parent yourself before your finished learning about your long-lived Iguana.

The first thing to learn is how to feed your friend or he will not survive.  So think a little before you decide to buy this guy!
