PLAYING THE ANIMAL RIGHTS TRUMP CARD

Where are all the watchdog groups? Have politically subversive Animals Rights groups been put to sleep or are they busy biting at President Trump?

We’ve all been glued to the news on Korea, Cuban Embassy, and now the protest mess in Virginia but early this month the annual Animal Rights Conference, learn about ii Animal Rights Origin & History, was held near Washington, D.C. My daughter dropped by to update me on that and to remind me that the outgoing president approves a stack of regulations during his last week in office.

“Clearing the desk” before departure actually a ruse for signing bills that might have otherwise raised negative press commentary.  President Obama followed tradition but President Trump is not a typical politician. To the annoyance of his own party, he applies successful business acumen to the art of politics. It is what got him elected.  Will he play the Trump Card on "Animal Rights" politicians who keep trying to whittle away at the rights we fight so hard to keep?

The self-proclaimed “who’s who of activists from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and like-minded groups” are working hard to get their subversive political agenda accepted by President Trump. I believe that is why protests and rallies have markedly increased in 2017. My kid still thinks its because they want to stop “meat, ice cream, circuses, zoos, aquariums, leather belts and silk shirts.” I observed we have a nuclear nutcase on our doorstep and that our leaders have more pressing business to address.

Surprisingly we agreed that protests are dear to the hearts of people who would rather demonstrate than work. They don’t need jobs when they are supported by billionaires like George Soros^{1} who brags that he topples countries. America seems to be his favorite target. She has tuned me up on that guy!

I didn’t know that Animal rights groups claim support from Lara Trump, the beautiful wife of Eric Trump, President Trump’s son. My daughter says Lara Trump is an advocate for the North Shore Animal League of America, a respected no-kill animal shelter and was praised for trying to get President Trump to adopt a rescue dog. I nodded but I don't see her as an “animal rights” supporter.

At the Hero Dogs Awards, Mrs. Trump said “Ever since I was a little girl I’ve loved animals. I do everything I can to help them, and I support this wonderful organization that reunites veterans with their dogs.” So do all military families and they do not support any legislation that subverts the Constitution Of The United States and the freedom they protect.

American citizens wait to see if or how this administration will handle “animal rights” legislation but my guess is the dog fancy has no inroads to the White House staff which is fully occupied by ominous signs.

My well-informed daughter says to tell you guys that the Beagle Freedom Project (BFP) vows to stop the use of dogs in medical research. I raised an eyebrow. What’s wrong with that? She sighed. “Daddy, their leader is a convicted animal-rights terrorist named Kevin Kjonaas who changed his name to Kevin Chase.” My expression didn’t change so she patiently explained “Chase is part of a domestic Terrorist Group, the Animal Liberation Front^{2}.

I shrugged. Annoyed, she huffed “They’ve committed criminal acts amounting to $million in damages. Gads! ALF is the FBI’s #1 terror group.”

OK, I get that but more powerful is the HSUS (Humane Society Of The United States) which spends an estimated 70 to 80% of its budget supporting Democratic candidates and it now employs many former PETA workers.

We see the world differently, she and I, but we agreed that President Trump is an astute business man quickly learning the political ropes. With what’s going on in North Korea (and Congress) we’re waiting to see how he’ll play his hand. In the meantime, we trust someone on his staff is keeping him informed of the subversive Animal Rights agenda.
